Marie tells me I have permission to use this picture. Really, there isn't much to add as this picture is worth several thousand words, but can I tell you how much I love Marie? She is a fantastic mother to these two little ones and does it with a smile (even for a picture like this).

Dare I ask what that is?
A hearty mixture of rice cereal and milk - the unfortunate consequence of overfeeding Emma as we strive to strike a balance with solids.
i honestly laughed my head off for a good five minutes after seeing this photo. oh marie, you are my hero.
My hero too! This post - the picture of smiling Marie, the sweet words from Adam about smiling Marie - just might be one of my FAVORITE blog posts ever.
So much in between the lines!
Love you guys!
Oh wow!! And that is why I love being a mom, you can have baby fluid ALL over you and still look have a smile on your face! FOr all intents and purposes, that is a cute pic of you Marie! (Can we Carters be cool enough to have our blog make it onto your side bar??)
I'm such a nerd! In my brain, the Carter fam was TOTALLY up there. How embarrassing! I have added you directly.
Wow. What can we say?? Emma, that is seriously impressive work! Glad you were still smiling Marie! Even completely covered in spit-up the two of you are adorable!
Isn't it amazing how much bodily fluid you get on you when you're a mother? I look at people walking their dogs (which there's a lot of here) "picking up after them"...I think, "how disgusting." I suppose they'd think the same thing if they saw what I clean up after. Hee hee
That's so funny...Adam and I talk about the whole dog phenomenon all the time. He thinks it is the most awkward thing in the whole world to see people watching their dogs crouch down and do their business. But you're right...I spend a lot of time doing that with one kid potty training/trained and the other in diapers. SO, SO worth it though. Gotta love those little mess-makers!
WOW! I'm impressed! Emma can be quite the spitter-upper when her little tummy is full! 5 years ago, I probably would have thought this picture was so disgusting and wondered why people have children...but now, having a child of my own - it's just part of life!!
Way to go! ;)
